David Redfern

President Corporate Development

David was appointed President Corporate Development of GSK in May 2008 and is responsible for corporate development and the leadership of the execution of all GSK’s business development activities. He is a member of the GSK Executive Committee and reports to the CEO.

In addition to his current role, David is Chairman of ViiV Healthcare Ltd. ViiV was created in 2010 and is a joint venture between GSK and Shionogi and focuses specifically on the research, development and commercialisation of medicines to treat HIV and has global sales of £8billion. He was previously on the Board of GSK Consumer Healthcare, now Haleon Plc, and led the separation of Haleon from GSK through a demerger onto the London Stock Exchange in mid-2022.

On February 1 2015 David was appointed a non–executive director of Aspen Pharmacare, a South African based and listed healthcare group.

David has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bristol University in the UK and is a Chartered Accountant.
