Dr. Oelkers is the Chief Executive Officer of Sobi. He is Chairman and member of the advisory board of Abra MidCo SARL, a member of the advisory committee of Zentiva Group and an industrial advisor at EQT. Prior to joining Sobi, Dr. Oelkers was CEO of BSN Medical, President & CEO of Gambro, EVP Commercial Operations at Nycomed, CEO of Invida and Global Head of Healthcare at DKSH. He held managerial roles at Aventis and preceding entities. Dr. Oelkers was a Board member of Meda and Sartorius AG.

Dr. Oelkers earned his PhD in Strategic Management at the University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia and his Master of Economics at South Bank University, London, UK. He has complementary studies in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, London, UK.
