Peder S. Olofsson, MD, PhD is Professor of Bioelectronic Medicine at Karolinska Institutet and Head of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. His research focuses on neural regulation of inflammation and the development of bioelectronic therapies targeting immune function. His work has advanced understanding of vagus nerve–mediated control of immunity and its potential for treating inflammatory diseases. He leads interdisciplinary research spanning neuroscience, immunology, and clinical medicine, with the aim of translating fundamental discoveries into therapeutic innovation.
